Fair play to Michael Beale

Must admit I love stuff like this. Genuinely surprised they gave them a goal back (no way that I would). Sport is all about getting the edge and providing it's not outlawed in the rules (or even if it is but you get away with it!) I'm all for it.

Assume you're a fan of diving then?

I thought the lackadaisical approach showed a lack of respect and deserved to be punished.. all this boo hiss at the referee like some of them nearly had to break into a sweat. If they had been as switched on to play as they were to wet their knickers in front of the ref then they wouldn't have conceded.

I would have been quite happy for the Rangers goalkeeper to have taken the ball off the Partick Thistle guy.. again a complete disrespect to the idea of competition and sport. a poor effort.

If you get away with it, yes. It's not the players/teams faults the game hasn't adapted to stamp it out and given the vast sums of money at stake (don't forget, at the top level, it's a business) you'd be mad not to take every marginal gain you can.

With the way Tillman went after the ball, I don't think he realised Partick Thistle were going to give the ball back. The poor first touch from the Thistle player exacerbated this. I would give Tillman the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.

Difference between thinking it's a business and that players should look for every edge for that reason and "love to see it" though, which is what you said.

Each to their own. I'd rather win fair than cheat personally.

I'm very much with Capybara and newyddion on this. It's all very well jumping up and down about the unwritten sportsmanship rules but it's a game with actual rules that can be enforced.

It's weird as well, because if Partick *had* lumped the ball upfield and one of their strikers had run onto it to score, there would have been exactly the same fuss in reverse.

I suppose what we're essentially saying is that we should protect Partick's right to find the ball back to Rangers, but OH MY GOD NOT WHERE THEY HAD IT TO START WITH FFS
