Fancy some extra Xmas money?

Nationwide used to be great for it as you could refer a friend to switch and get £100 each, max 5x per year

Protip:

Open a free bank account to use for switching, put £100 in it and some tiny DD's and use that for switching

Check terms some have minimum pay in requirements but you can transfer money in and straight out

I use Moneybox and Plum

I used to do this but have pretty much exhausted it now. Simple way to make a bit of money but many people just can't be arsed!

As long as you close accounts as you go (switching service takes care of it) they usually each have a date you can't have had a bonus paid since but it resets every few years as shown on the links

If you are unsure if you meet the date criteria (as I was) you can request your credit report which shows you when you have opened and closed accounts.

There is also an app called Switch Tracker which can help you.

Me and other family members tried to open the HSBC Advance last night. We were all refused. None of us have bad credit and have plenty of savings

I hit a rating of 1000 2 months ago, still not sure if that is good or bad :D
Credit "scores" are meaningless and only used by people looking at their own score

Lenders use their own criteria so doesn't matter if your score is 7 or 1000, they look at defaults, credit history, credit utilisation etc - they might have their own bespoke scoring system but the numbers we see are meaningless given to you as a tough health check and as gamification to drive people to monitor it and improve it

Have you moved recently? Do you have access to your credit report to see any linked accounts?
I went for a Natwest burner account and was initially refused but I appealed and they sent an apology letter saying that they had reviewed my application and I could call them up and get the account sorted. Didn't bother as I had already secured a Starling one.
