FAO Goalscrounger re US visa advice

Hello mate, a bit long winded but hope you can give me some advice.
You may remember a post a few months ago about my visa being rejected after interview.
Anyway, long story short I was asked to provide evidence of my stepped down convictions which I have been in possession of since October. I was then told to email the US office and asked to unlock my account which I did. Three months later I'm still waiting and keep being told that my issue has been sent to the consular office and they will let me know when they need more documentation to proceed with my application. I was told that in early December and chased it up yesterday only to be given exactly the same explanation and to wait for further contact from them. I am just so bloody frustrated at their responses.
Is their anyone you know of that I can make an official complaint to? My initial application was sent in May 2023 and eight months later I am no further forward.

I have some experience of the lack of response from the US Embassy as my son (who was 19 at the time) had his Visa renewal application placed into "administrative processing" on what seemed nothing more than a whim (both my wife and I got our applications approved at the same meeting he was denied).

This meant that he could not enter the US and so could not come home to Chicago until it was sorted. After 9 months of doing what you're now doing and being ignored (and after getting the State Senator's Office to request on our behalf) we actually moved to sue them, and lo and behold his Visa got processed within 2 weeks of them receiving our initial legal documentation.

If nothing happens after 180 days I would seek some legal advice to see if you can do something similar despite being based in the UK.

Let's hope you get some success before it gets to that point.

Thanks mate, I really appreciate the advice.
I'm at the point of actually giving up as the visa is only for me to visit a mate who lives in Chicago. It's point of principle though as I've spent a small fortune on the application and everything associated with it.
Did you warn them of being sued via letter or email before they finally did anything?

I used an immigration officer and he just filed the intent documentation.

...and if you ever make it over here (I think you're Ross's mate??) I'll buy you a beer and a Malort chaser!!

And finally it looks like I am getting somewhere.
Just been sent a link to resubmit documents that they requested in October but also failed to provide courier details and an actual address!
Looks like the threat of an official complaint and legal action has paid off.
Not holding my breath though. 😞
