I think he received a temporary ban for going a bit far with his posts, but then decided not to return.

No, he didn't get any sort of ban. He mentioned that he voted Tory and got some abuse so decided to leave.
I think it was something like a comment saying that anyone who votes tory is scum that was the final straw. He took it personally.
It looks like he now prefers the politically free environment of oneBoro.
