Fatal Motion HoL today.

Yikes. What is the point of this Labour party?
More electoral math and 5D-chess whilst playing with the lives of millions of workers.

They've promised to repeal it once elected which is essentially blackmail. Blair made a similar promise 25 years ago and went back on it.

Not a chance that Starmer can be trusted with this.

I'm sure one of his supporters will be along shortly to tell us he is playing the long game and had to do this to hoodwink tories in to voting for him

It can only be to try and avoid the Tory spin that Labour would take us back to the 70's. Don't agree with the stance at all and would relish more unionisation to protect workers rights. Christ, even America is moving towards more unionisation as demonstrated by the recent auto workers dispute. Their win had the effect of other, non unionised motor manufacturers raising workers pay in an effort to prevent the formation of unions at their plants.

When i was working in the fire service, the union stopped paying into labour while margaret blair was in charge, then re affiliated under corbyn, i stopped paying into the political fund because labour does not now represent the working classes, how many labour mps are ex shop stewards or union activists non spring to mind, yherein lies the problem

Can somebody explain how Starmer/Labour’s position in failing to back the fatal motion benefits the working classes and the masses? Anybody?
I’m asking genuinely. I can’t for the life of me understand why a Labour Party would not try to stop this Union weakening, anti-strike legislation and would sit back and allow millions of workers to lose their right to withdraw their labour?
I know they’ve said they will repeal it when they get into power, but they’ve said alot of things and Starmer seems to change his mind more than I change my pants, so talk is cheap.
Seriously, what’s the deal with this?

The likely answer will be

" He can't upset anyone in the centre, to the right , or the daily mail or the MSM ,or brexiteers , he's playing the long game of avoiding banana skins ... Etc etc ...
If you don't hold yer nose and vote for him despite their actions/ words / articles on any subject whatsoever.. then you might as well vote Tory "
