MUSIC, MASKS AND STORYTIME MAGIC AT MIDDLESBROUGH THEATRE!

A new family-friendly show is coming soon to Middlesbrough Theatre inspired by folk tales found in The Arabian Nights.

Tales From A Thousand And One Nights takes The Seven Voyages of Sinbad, The Little Hunchback, Faisal and the Barber, Behind the Door, Sage Duban and the Wazir and transforms them into a feast of storytelling.

Adapted by Dragonboy Productions, the show features ensemble stories, puppetry, masks and live music.

Director Eliot Giuralarocca said: “We love stories, and no collection of stories are more beloved than these wonderful Middle Eastern folk tales.

“They are hymns and fables to the inventiveness of the human spirit and are hilarious, poignant and memorable.

“With four actor-musicians, live music, mask and song we hope to create a feast of physical storytelling in an evening that simply cannot be missed!”

Recommended for age 10 plus, the family show has a total running time of an hour and 45 minutes plus interval.
  • Tales From A Thousand And One Nights is at Middlesbrough Theatre on Wednesday, April 26.
  • Tickets are £14 - £20 including booking fee.
  • Book online via www.middlesbroughtheatre.co.uk or call 01642 81 51 81 to speak to the box office.

I think Talal, Alexei Sayle's podcast producer is in this. He was waxing lyrical about the Sinbad stories in the most recent. It sounded quite entertaining. Which Sinbad is obviously.
