Festival of Thrift.

Yes have been today and each time it has been at kirkleatham an excellent day out. Will be sad to see it leave as they way it ranges through the whole village is perfect imho

Was there today it’s shocking it’s moving I think the set up is perfect….good for Redcar took mentioned a Christmas version would be perfect and friend who had a stall there said he’s been asked if he wants a to book for the Christmas version so hopefully there will be one there too

Something we really need is a Christmas type market in the area.

Where is it moving to?
Not really sure but I think Stockton was being muted about. There has been a bit of a falling out as the land was gifted rent free for the event, I do believe, and now they want a cut. They must take some dosh through the car parking alone.

Was great at Darlington but didn't enjoy it as much in Redcar. Changed a lot. Lost a lot of what it was initially about imo
Can’t agree with that, Kirkleatham a far better site than Darlo, really nice different areas (and I can walk there!)

Been both days, lovely relaxed atmosphere, lots to see and do, massive loss to Redcar ( it was packed today)

A shame that the weather was bad yesterday, had other plans today or we'd have went down, I caught the opening parade on Friday though, which was enjoyable.

Was there today for a few hours, I always enjoy it so would be a shame if it moved from the area.

Always come home with a bag full of brownies, flapjacks, cakes and scotch eggs!

Seen that a few of the food stalls weren’t happy about being put in the wrong place despite being told beforehand that they were going to be in the main food area.

Huge loss for Redcar. Me & the mrs have been to the last few at kirky and spoke that we are gunna miss it as it’s on the doorstep to us. But I don’t think they is enough there to warrant a trip to billingham for it tho

I feel it has just become a glorified market. Some community events and displays by art groups and artists but just lots of street food stalls and local products. It was a nice morning wandering around but I wouldn’t go to Billingham for it.

The organisers wanted a huge fee from the council to keep it at Kirkleatham. They council said no. The festival was meant to be self sufficient by now.
