Has anyone got a copy of this season’s accounts? Just so we can really talk with authority about how the club structures its transfer business and financial operations. Or do I just go off what I read on here instead.
ah I forgot that debate was banned around here, my bad

Agree on that last bit. His passing is way too careless for the way we have the two CMs playing.

He was a useful Swiss army knife type back end of last season, happy for him to stay for that role.
think he'll lose his place now, and be gone in the summer. Too many flaws to iron out, good player in the right system at this level though, but he can't play controlled passing football well enough

We were after Thomas Cannon in the summer - £7m ish.. went to Leicester made 5 appearances so far and scored 2 goals.

Then we wrote off like £100m of debt.. so I reckon we're good for about.. dink donk dink.. £107m lol

£7m would be a tasty amount to drop around January.. gots you about 3 or 4 really good players at this level

I remember at the end of the summer someone had done some maths and worked out we were basically about £3m under the FFP limit - which seems to be the benchmark for all our spending

They seem pretty ***ed he's leaving, sounds like they wanted him permanently

It’s the usual stuff you see on here. People posting as if they know all of the facts and figures when the truth is nobody outside of the boardroom really knows what’s going to happen, or what can be spent on players.

I always remember a poster on here years ago, in Karanka’s first summer so 2014, who had one of those really cocky and smug posting styles. They were adamant for weeks that the club had no money to spend and all of our signings would be UK-based and from the bargain bin. The club then signed Kike, Nsue, Damia, Mejias, Vossen and Wildschut.

I think there’s so much noise, so much guff, around the game. The saturated coverage, 24hrs sports news channels, social media and podcasts and vloggers, the people writing about stats for the The Athletic when 20 years ago they’d have been working in the city.

I think there’s a lot of people who’ve learned how to make what goes on in football sound more intellectual than it actually is, or cottoned on to how stats and finances can be turned into content and podcasts. Not necessarily on here, just generally.

It can sometimes be hard to just cut through all of that and enjoy the game. So much of the coverage and talk is very far removed from what actually happens on the field.

Well.. yeah.. but that's the difference between a football message board, podcast, youtube stream etc etc...

Opinions have been monetized and there's so many opinions out there.. now we have opinions on speculation! We are awash with stats.. whilst when they are used correctly can provide an interesting perhaps unseen aspect to players performance or what has been happening on the pitch.. even a lot of those are guff.. EXPECTED GOALS FFS.. URGGH BORK!

It is annoying to see folks slag the club off for stuff they know nothing about.. stuff they have clearly made up or just seen posted by some cat vvanker on a football message board.

It is what it is. JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW IS AN EVENT NOW - THE GLORIOUS (OFTEN FICTICIOUS) SOAP OPERA

All teams are looking to improve and we are no different.. our recruitment has been outstanding recently.. lets see how we get on.. stick a name into the hat.. give it a pull!!
