First half never turned up pen denied offside goal crooks missed sitter at the death

Wilder has been pretty critical of the performance in his Sky interview. Said they got what they deserved which was nothing.
 
Our forward line was poor tonight but they were also starved of service and the only really decent chances they had, Sporar turned inside and was brought down when it might have been better to hit it first time and Connolly skied the other.

We all saw how Crooks felt after missing his chances, holding his head in his hands at the end of the game said it all.

Not sure what was happening first half but Jones couldn't get into the game and we didn't seem st string two passes together.

I think it was a penalty and not sure what the officials have seen.

Tav's corners are either right on the money or they are Juninho -esque and hit the first man.

I think Wilder was right, Blackburn wanted it more and just edged it.

Same here. Boro were the best team second half and actually played in their half. Two big chances second half and shots by Jones and Connolly that really should have tested the keeper.

I think both teams could have accepted a point but obviously been delighted with a win.
 
We were poor first half but we still didn't give away any real chances. We just couldn't get anything going and still might've gone in ahead if we had a penalty.

2nd half both teams started slowly but Jones got a lot of joy down the right and we were really getting on top but the stoppage in the stands stopped our momentum. They only scored from a dodgy miskick, no great chance created. Then we were well on top for the remainder of the game.

I don't think they were the best team and if they were it wasn't by much at all, it was a very even game from two good teams and I think a draw would've been fair. It's football though, you can't win them all and I've seen enough from us to be confident we can maintain a playoff push.
 
Don’t understand why it took so long to make changes. Connelly ran around to be fair but is rusty, his touch and finishing were awful. Sporar can finish but without service is anonymous.
I thought Watmore and/or Balogun should have been on early 2nd half. Still not sure why Watmore isn’t starting.
 
There's no way Blackburn deserved to win. They did a great job stifling us and closing us down first half and had some promising breaks, but they didnt create any clear cut chances. As good a hit as it was their goal was a freak. Daft mistake and then through the legs. 9 times out of 10 Fry gets a block on that.

Blackburn are second in the league, playing at home and they set up like a bottom half side away from home looking for a point. They did a good job in that respect but also got lucky.

the reason I suspect people (including Wilder) are saying we deserved nothing is because we were below our usual high standards. Very much so in the first half. Wilder in particular doesn't want players thinking that was an acceptable performance based on how he wants us to be playing.

Despite that on balance of play and chances created we were still just about the better side. Which is really encouraging despite how annoying last night was.
 
I thought the referee was too quick to start flashing yellow cards. It was an intensive start to the game and we were rattled by their pressing but Blackburn had an advantage with the official quick to penalise us. 4 cards to 0 at one point.
When we got to half time I was relieved as I thought we had weathered the storm and as the play developed second half I thought we’d at least get a point. My concern is still goals. We haven’t got a goalscoring striker and that may be the difference in us going up and not this season.

I am sure Wilders comments after the match were a product of disappointment because I didn't think we deserved to get beat. We had the lions share of the ball, we had the better chances and it was a definite penalty.
 
I thought the medical emergency stopped our momentum we didn't really reach the same level after that. I hope the fan involved has made a full recovery (most important thing)

In summary, we made a defensive error and got punished they made one (the pen) and didn't. A draw would have been a fair result. Not impressed with Connolly last night don't think him and Sporar work as a pair prefer Dunc and I like the look of Balogun.
 
How long was that game delay as seemed a lot longer than the token 12 mins added on as now most games give 4 or 5 anyway so are they saying it was only a 5 min stoppage ???
