First single you bought

Bought this with my holiday money when I was visiting relatives in Winchester with my parents. Happy memories 😊
" See the mice in their million hordes
From Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads
Rule Britannia is out of bounds
To my mother, my dog, and clowns "

"Something Better Change" by the Stranglers was my first chart single bought. I think a single was about 69p and getting into the Holgate 80p.

I did buy Music for Pleasure LPs before this.

Stutter rap - morris minor and the majors. On 7inch, imagine that being your only record for any period of time 🙇🏻

Somebody mention Slade......
Here`s a very brief clip of Noddy Holder from 6 days ago, where he talks about his over-coming cancer and chemo.
He`s 72 and 5 years ago got told he had 6months to live!

I was bought Band Aid as a toddler in 1984.

I then bought T-U-R-T-L-E Power and World in Motion myself on '45'.

On CD, it was Meat Loaf's Rock N Roll Dreams Come Through.

I then subsequently bought every Oasis CD single on the day of release, from Live Forever onwards. Still have all the Boro HMV receipts kept safe in the CD's inlay cards to this day.

My memory plays tricks these days. It was definitely Bowie, Glitter or Slade but I think it was Rock n Roll parts 1 and 2 by GG
