FM 23 out to play now - boro manager is vacant

I’ve started it mid September to make it more realistic feel as unable to buy anyone and games coming thick and fast.

I see what you mean about the match engine it’s great really varied.
The changes I made were seen as too radical.. we were up in 5th place when I was sacked in January!

Birmingham came in quickly for me and I managed to sign Scott Twine before deadline day.

Unsurprisingly boro slid down the table and offered me my job back on improved terms before the season was out.

Next season was a breeze as I continued my bold attacking style. The players grew in confidence as we were promoted at a canter.

Long term deals were given to Steffen and Giles.. next stop UEFA qualification.

I'm half way through an ultimate challenge on the previous version so might wait until the main release is out to buy it.

If you don't mind saving/restarting on the "promotion date" after the first season you should be able to play as Marske 👍

not played football manager for years. what sort of pc performance do you need to run it? i've got an old works laptop i was hoping i might be able to give it a go on. not sure what it's specifications are but i'll check when i get home.

Finding it a tad too easy. Currently unbeaten in the league with Boro and halfway through the season. Did lose to Fleetwood in the FA cup though. Form send to be taking off as having a few draws. The defeat against Fleetwood has had a massive effect on morale.

Only decent signing I've made is an ivory coast youngster. Not promoted any of the youth. Works have done if it wasn't a 3 horse race for the top 2 spots.

Full version is officially out today.

Will be making Boro my first save as usual when I start it up after work. Going to attempt to do a bit of a Alex Ferguson challenge and try to bring the youth through, starting with Hackney.

I wonder what has changed

Big week for the PC this week first this released AND then the 40th anniversary of MSFS on is out on Thursday with 🚁 ( finally) added

I've also resisted the temptation to play the beta but will be giving it a go tonight. Boro first, might try to recreate Carrick's set up or alternatively see where we could have finished with Wilder's 3-5-2 ;)

Not sure if anyone does the challenges but the Dafuge challenge this year should be playable with Marske so I'll be giving that a crack to.

At some point my annual failure of the Ultimate Challenge (start unemployed with lowest experience/qualifications and win 32 club and international competitions) will happen too :)

To take a small club who were previously unplayable in an unedited game from the Vanarama National League North/South to Premier League and Champions League glory.

More rules here: https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/532770-dafuges-fm21-challenge/

I've just realised Scarborough are in the game this year, been a long time since I've ever done a save with them (Champ Manager 01/02).
Yeah, any team in the NPL is *potentially* playable for the challenge although you may need to save/re-start the game a few times if there's a specific team you're looking for.

I'm still on FM20, on a game into the year 2045 or so. You will be pleased to know that Boro have been in the championship pretty much all that time (I never managed them in this game save). Is this latest version of the game a massive improvement, or shall I carry on in FM20 for another 20 seasons?

Will Marske be available on the console version. I've pre downloaded it to Xbox not having played a footie management game since champ manager 00/01.

Hmm, not sure - I've only ever played the PC version.

If they do become playable it won't be until season 2, dependent if they've been promoted into the Conference North (assuming that level is playable on console?)
