Foods that irrationally yuck you out

Celery. Just the smell alone makes me want to hurl. Don't get me started on the texture/consistency. Fkin vile!!

Edit, and I just read the posts above where someone agrees. And I just remembered I was at an event once where a 3 course dinner was served before some awards, and the dessert..... Celery Sorbet!!! The dirty bstads!!!

I wonder if that’s a choking thing? We mash up blueberrys, peas, grapes etc before giving them to our son for that reason.
Surely peas aren’t big enough to choke. Grapes are a big choking hazard mind. We cut the into 8ths when daughter was 1 now she’s approaching 3 they are in halves

Oysters.... Just don't get how they are seen as an expensive treat.

I have only ever tried one and its basically like swallowing salty snot😂. You may as well dip a a bogie in sea water (I was careful to use snot and sea water as an example😉)
I always remember Frank Skinner describing eating oysters as being like "licking phlegm off a tortoise". I never fancied trying them after that.

The added benefit of mashing peas is it stops him throwing them everywhere and us finding the ones that have rolled away 3 weeks later.

Similar to eggs, I can't eat cheese if it's from goat milk.
Shellfish wise I love oysters but gag at the thought of eating winkles etc.
Rabbit, I won't entertain eating it after being traumatised as a kid when my parents tricked me into eating it by saying it was chicken in the pie.

I’m with you on winkles / cockles etc. I’ll eat pretty much any shellfish, but those just remind me of those little stands in Whitby and I have no inclination to try them

I absolutely love trifle but for some reason, I can only eat shop bought ones. The thought of eating home made turns my stomach!

Celery and Cucumber for me.
Even if I take the cucumber out of shop bought sarnies, I still can't eat them.

Exactly the same BinB cant eat cucumber or anything its even touched. If there is pieces in a restaurant salad I cannot eat the rest after picking lettuce out as you can still taste it. Same with the sandwiches you mention.

Good call for Oysters once bought one in Great Yarmouth could never bring myself to eat it. Also Winkles and there is no way I could ever put a Whelk in my mouth. Or a Snail for that matter.

Another one for duck eggs. I was given a couple, fresh from someone who kept ducks, chickens etc. Scrambled them as normal (ie. properly in a pan with butter & seasoning only). I found them far too rich compared to hens eggs and felt really sick after eating. Never again.

Also sardines. I used to love them and still like eating them, the smell and the taste, freshly grilled on a beach in Spain/Portugal etc. but the last few times I've chundered violently afterwards so I just won't touch them any more.

To add to the Olives above

Artichoke
Peaches
Apricots
Beetroot
Plums
Dates
Butter Beans
Nutella
Cherries
Pickled Eggs

Soup, I didn't realise it was a phobia until I heard an article with Eddie Izzard describing his soup phobia and how he overcame it making his own, I'm still not ready to start that process yet:sick:
