Football shirts obsession

Recently there seems to have become a massive increase in interest in buying/ selling/collecting football shirts,replicas,players signed shirts etc. Even down to people holding up signs in the crowd asking players if they can have their shirt at the end of the match.
I looked on eBay at Boro shirts and nearly every shirt you can think of is on there. Interestingly most of them are from sellers in the Ukraine or Poland…are these fakes?
 
The people to ask could well be the Boro Shirt Museum duo.
They have an exhibition of Bryan Robson era Boro shirts at Base Camp on 29th January. The place will be full of shirt collectors and admirers. It is as you say something that has really taken off. Some of their collection is worth hundreds now and some you could add another 0 on the end. They have hundreds of shirts, they probably started collecting at just the right time. They surely could not have afforded it if they were starting out right now.
