Fry was really great hosting QI and, because of his presence, made the programme what it is today. However, I do think Sandy Toksvig was a genial replacement as host.
Fry, as Melchett in Blackadder 4, was his pinnacle for me, he fitted that particular role that and don't think anyone else could have.
