Frankie Boyle - farewell to the monarchy.

Saw him in Sheffield recently, love him to bits.

Just read his essay "The future of British Politics", its a great read, funny, yet hugely insightful, can't recommend it enough.

Watched it last night with my wife and son.
My son said - I’ll give it a couple of mins then I’m off to bed. He watched the whole thing.

FB‘s research really shone through and made for a great conversation with the various historians. He, and they, were really engaging.
All in all, from a historical perspective really fascinating.

His humour?
Some laugh out loud moments
Some ‘I can’t believe he just said that but, I’m glad he did’ moments
And, the odd dud

Thoroughly enjoyed it

Good wasn’t it and as you said alot more enlightening than I was expecting.

I actually finished it last night. Yeah it was ok. He does make some good jokes etc, but I don’t find myself as taken in as I used to be by him.

I thought the land ownership stats in both England and Scotland were terrifying.

It is utter madness that links to someone from 1066 still massively impacts on our nation today.

We have always been ruled over by William of Normandy😉

(to think it all came about because of an argument between members of a Norwegian Viking family about who had the rights to England)

Apparently, the show was preceded by a warning that it may contain material about the royal family that people may find offensive.

I wouldn't mind so much if this was the case for all programs about the royals, 99.5% of which is vomit-inducingly positive.
