Frasier reboot

Frasier is my favourite ever comedy...Cheers a close second.

Wasn't sure what to make of the news that a reboot was in the works.

Anyway, first two episodes are on Paramount Plus.

Mixed reviews, and I'm not impressed so far.

With the exception of Grammer and Nic Lyndhurst the characters are not good, and with no other returning characters it just doesn't feel the same.

I’m the same as you, apart from Cheers is number 1 for me. I have tried to avoid reviews and I’m going to watch tonight. I don’t have high hopes though.

Frasier was outstanding. I can’t bring myself to watch the reboot with all new characters. I suspect it will bomb. Frasier was so special because of the cast not just Kelsey Grammer. Leave the past where it belongs, reboots rarely prove successful.

I remember that the first few episodes of Frasier after the end of Cheers were a little uninspiring. A bit early to write it off?

Reading some of the reviews it sounds like some of the characters don't get going until about the 4th episode. When I get a chance I'm going to binge watch them.

Maybe so. I will give it a while longer.

BTW for those who have Sky Movies on SkyQ you get P+ included free (you probably know that).

The clip I saw they’ve got Nicholas Lyndhurst as that posh English cliche from central casting. He even sounds weird.

Casting Nic Lyndhurst seems really weird to me. I love him and Only Fools, but he isn’t the greatest actor in the world is he?

Frazier without Niles how is that possible.

I think Niles, Martin (and Eddie) were better characters than Frasier anyway so hard to see how it works without them.

Frasier himself was key for them (and the rest of the cast) to play off against, but alone I don't really see the attraction.

They'll do well to come up with new characters that do the same, but not impossible I suppose.

Did you know they planned a bikes spin off series but it was cancelled as it was to expensive as they had to pay three times for stakeholders.

Cheers then frasier then niles.

Even now cheers main cast get money from frasier.
