Fry

I suppose you have to buy into what Wilder is trying to do and look at the difference between Lenihan and Fry. Wilder wants us on the front foot, build from the back and not sit deep (as far as I understand). Lenihans first thought seems to be when he gets the ball to run into any space in front of him or lay off a forward pass if its on. He always tries to give Steffen an option also. Fry seems a little more safe and is used to being a regular CB. Play it sideways or backwards. I like Fry and understand why people are saying what they are but if he is preventing the team from playing the way the manager wants at the minute then he either has to adapt or wait til Wilder possibly changes the system. I dont really get the negativity re Lenihan.
What was Lenihan’s excuse on Saturday?

Why do people want to sell our best defender? Because Wilder doesn't fancy him?
Because I don’t think he is our best defender
Neither does Wilder - he doesn’t rate him having worked with him for almost a year.
All about opinions

Have to say I haven't really noticed this at all. Maybe you're right I'm not sure. My viewing of the last match was more Lenihan just receiving it from one of the wide CBs and moving it to the other. No surging runs forward.

Dijksteels the best of our CBs at dynamic runs in to and beyond the midfield.
