The best black pudding I’ve tasted comes from Spain not Northern England. Pity their bacon is rubbish.
Spanish black pudding is nice but it doesn't have the texture of British BP. It's more like haggis - which is also cracking on a breakfast.

The best black pudding I've had recently was Scottish, not Northern English. The smell when it was cooking was just lovely. I think it was from Morrisons.

Baker Street kitchen and acklam hall do a decent breakfast. Not had anything outstanding lately locally
Is that the Acklam Hall Tomahawk steakhouse that got the 1* food hygiene rating. Though I’m sure they’ll have made improvements.

Stornoway black pudding from the Isle of Lewis is lovely. Very crumbly texture but delicious.

Acklam Hall used to do a good breakfast before it became a tomahawk steakhouse.

Five houses was very nice.

I'll be trying the g&t house in great ayton , and the orangery just off the A172 next.

It might have been Stornoway black pudding.

"Most black puddings across the UK are made from pigs' blood, but the Stornoway version is made from sheep's, cows' or pigs' blood. Scottish oatmeal gives the pudding its rough texture."

Dudley Arms has opened a cafe post lockdown and the Mrs Chickenrunner pronounced the breakfasts to be good. Might even get a pint of beer with them. :)
