Fully vaccinated only for Premier League from October

Latest government thinking. Also for other events with over 20,000 people. Will we pass the 20,000 threshold?

If they do it on venue capacity we will. Which is the likely thinking I’ve read.

otherwsie they’d end up having to refund tickets if it passed the number to anyone not vaccinated.

It depends on how many ST holders we have, some also asked to put theirs on hold, so the new requests , those on hold and walk ups may miss out.

How will you prove you've had both?

Will it be on an app or a physical 'passport' type document? I'm only asking as my 81 year old dad is kicking off as he has a Nokia and sick of 'everything on fecking apps😂'

Double vaccinated people have the virus as well.

We've had threads on this. Vaccination I was told was not designed to stop the virus, just to make you less ill when you got it.

I read we are close to the point where 50% of total infections in the UK are with the vaccinated.

Less than 12% are unvaccinated and some of them have medical conditions and probably unlikely to go to games. By October there will probably be less than 10% of a football crowd unvaccinated

If the vaccination stopped you completely from having the virus I would tend to agree with checks, but not as we are now.

Would it not be medically better for everyone going to a game to take a flow test 24 hours before?

I haven't included children in the stats, do we know scientifically yet if they can be carriers and spreaders?

The 20,000 is not very logical as a stadium with 20,000 capacity and completely full must be more dangerous that say a 21,000 crowd in the Stadium of Light.

Wembley was open with 75% capacity, why not just say 75% capacity for all stadium? (unless they have ways of checking everyone)

Nhs app lets you download a QR code, and for the test events you could also show a negative test. If you didn’t have an app they can email you a offline copy which could be printed if needed

Just a general question on checking - Whats to stop someone using someone else's phone during the checking process? The people checking will only have 10 seconds to check a person. Snakes of fans will soon form at 2.40pm, an army of checkers will be required too.

I know they are going to do it at night clubs, but how many go to a typical night club say 500? and they arrive at different times over a 90 minute period.

Redwurzel this isn't going to happen in clubs or for football. The tories would trigger a vote of no confidence in Johnson on the back of it.
