Future Islands Town Hall

What a fantastic gig. Exactly the caliber of band we should be attracting to the town hall, not sure what the lead singer will have made from staying at Leonardo's mind?!
I was wondering, who picks who? Same as the Arctic Monkeys playing at the Riverside, how does it all play out?
 
Not my cup of tea but glad it was a good gig. Agree with what you say about the Town Hall and the calibre of gigs we should be getting. I feel those who book the shows just play it safe with a lot of comedy mixed in.
Another venue where the bookings have got really boring is the Arc. They just seem to keep repeating bands all the time. Wishbone Ash and Hue & Cry to name just two. Both decent bands but lets have something fresh. Its great when its Stockton Calling or the like.

I saw that but to be fair it was last minute. I have put up tickets on here before some I have given away, some at cost(or lower price) some taken others not. Usually if I put them up well in advance they go but sometimes its not possible to do that.

Well, they missed out as it was a quite phenomenal show. Surely one of the best frontman performers you will ever see anywhere.
A sensational night, I thought and I was certainly not alone in that.

By the way the hall is going to have to close soon for a few months for a major roof repair.

I have tickets to see them twice now and for circumstances beyond my control have missed them both times 😭😭

Great band.
Front man is a real entertainer.
 
The sound in the balcony was very muddy, with the vocals being barely discernible, I thought. Sam Herring's antics are indeed a focal point but ultimately the poor sound spoiled it for me.

I agree. My wife complained that she couldn't understand what he was singing. Think I didn't realize because I was too busy singing along!😊
 
The sound was definitely off. The band were drowning him out. Not what I expected I thought it would be the other way round. Still a great show and he is mesmerising to watch.
 
The singer's energy can't be argued against, although I did wonder if Gene Pitney had been to the Ministry of Silly Walks. Same issue with the sound, just too loud to hear properly at times.
