George effin Friend

I wanna say he's past it because he's dreadful for us at the moment and has been for some time.

That said I have little doubt he'd go somewhere else and be decent.

If the likes of Crainie are still doing a job for people then surely George can.

Also never ever been convinced with him as a centre half, he's always looked clumsy there for us. Currently doesn't have the legs for fullback, looks like he's carrying me on his back.

Injuries have taken there toll I'm afraid, great player for us but no longer the answer.
Time to say goodbye and thank you for everything

He was at fault for the Leeds goal.

Lost the ball poorly on half way in quite a dangerous position, then failed to stop/block the Leeds goal scorer. His heart is in it but they were basic mistakes made him look niave.

You just know Woodgates' logic for playing him will be 'He's a big character, a leader and we need these types of players when in a relegation fight'.

Sometimes it's not enough. I love Friend but he's finished.

I'm sorry but have to disagree. Coulson was excellent, how many fouls did friend give away in the first half near the corner flag, for being too slow and catching the lad. And I'd be ***ed as well if in the team. Friend comes back from injury and straight into the team. He should be coming on with 10 minutes to go.

He just doesn’t have it any more. Is it weird that I used to love it when he used to do that little cut back inside but when he does it now I just roll my eyes?

Great player for us but he’s been past it for about 3 years

Friend wouldn't get in the side if Ayala and Fry where fit. He will leave at the end of the season and I am sure will be remembered fondly by us. His legs have gone now and I am sure he will do a great job for someone like Doncaster for example where I am sure he will return too.

we've been down on fit defenders almost all season, GF probably could have done with more reserve games before coming back... unfortunately he didn't get them.
Thought he did OK, though their goal was terrible play by us.

* Tav was played out of position... should have been in behind Fletcher with Coluson & Spence on both wings... Wing & Clayton as the 2 central midfield players...

Will he make a good manager? I’m sure he would. Was the last bit tounge firmly in cheek, of course it was, unless your related to Woodgate.

Well people have been actually for something like this on other threads. So I assumed you were too. Sick of people posting stuff like Leo until season end , Friend next manager etc. Just total amateur *****.

We’re not going to need another manager until the end of the season.
