Gibson- Time to Sell Up

Let’s be honest, Steve. You’ve given up- it’s plain to see. I cannot fathom how you and the others thought Silvera, Van De Burg, Lathe etc etc were going to cut it here. This is by some considerable distance the worst Boro team at this level I have ever seen. We are so lightweight, ineffective it’s embarrassing. I think we would struggle in league 1!

We are being humiliated every time we get out on the pitch. I can take losing I cannot take being completely uncompetitive. No doubt Carrick will get buckets and to a degree I see why however you’ve let this happen. This is humiliation and a total lack of competitiveness which is unforgivable for me. I though Woodgate’s year was the bottom of the barrel it looks like I was wrong!

How the hell do we stay in this league? I just don’t see it!

Cramlington Boro, I thought I was the only Boro supporter round these here parts 😉
Alas not! That was dreadful again mind. Makes it worse with the lot up here talking themselves up again. Dreadful result again tonight can’t hide it. Also- Silvera- how is he starting and getting near 90 mins and Greenwood I don’t see the point.

Sell up to who exactly ?
I love these responses. Guess we shouldn’t express that this is not good enough eh and just be meek. Gibson has allowed us to downgrade ourselves as a club this year again. I just think his time is done and he should actively be looking to get out. I don’t want him as custodian of our football club anymore. We are a joint worst team in this league as of now. That is not acceptable for me and it should not be for any of us.

Will this thread be gone by the morning.....?
I would hope not. It’s not controversial. It’s a viewpoint. It’s fair to ask it. This.. right now.. is not acceptable and if we are all honest it’s Groundhog Day. It’s the same mistakes as we saw under Woodgate. The top top man, the custodian as he himself has said is allowing the same errors to happen again. History shows you you can only get away with it for so long and it looks like it’s about to bite us all in the backside. Just a view and one that should be given a voice because I bet I am not alone in thinking it. Let’s not live the fairytale of The Emperor’s New Clothes’ over this season please.

Doubt any other set of fans would accept their club being ran like this so why do we?

Said it for years but Gibson has completely killed this club and we’re really starting to see it all play out now. Sold all of our assets and tried to replace them on the cheap which clearly hasn’t worked, expect the manager will be gone soon to start the entire process again

Hope when we go down some fans might finally start to wake up

I love these responses. Guess we should assume there are hoards of people knocking Gibson's door down to buy the club.

If you're going to come out with ridiculous statements like that, at least come up with some suggestions of who might feasibly be interested

Who do you fancy ? - blood money Arabs (that lot up the road), mad Asians (Blackburn, Cardiff, Sheff Wed, Man C before the Arabs), naive Yanks (Chelsea, Man U), young kids who fancy a dabble (Sunderland) ? - the list is endless obviously

How would anybody on here be able to suggest a name for a buyer, whether the owner is willing to cut his losses to make it saleable anyway. There are loads and loads of wealthy people around the world including the UK, some of which are wanting to get involved with football. Jim Ratcliffe is trying to buy Man Utd, but the Qatari bid is still being considered I think. Jim might see Boro as a cheap option and a way to make amends for shutting his plant at Seal Sands. I know that is all bollox, but to expect anyone to mention a name of someone who would buy the club in its current state of indebtedness is frankly silly, it would be daft to claim to know an unreported name if the club was in credit.

Is this team worse than a Strachen team?

Yes every club that has been sold in the last twenty years has been an extremely enticing mega club. If Gibson was willing to admit he simply can’t compete anymore I’m sure it wouldn’t be that hard to find a buyer.

But this is Steve “turned down Ottmar Hitzfeld as manager because he didn’t want it to be ‘Middlesbrough-on-Rhine’” Gibson. A man who puts his own ego above all else.

You make it sound like Gibson is the only option we can ever expect. If he decides to sell a championship level club then I can guarantee people would be looking to buy
