Went to see Nick cave and Warren Ellis at the Globe last night.

I'll always prefer small, dark sweaty venues, but for this type and size of act, this is a great venue in my opinion. They have done a great job doing it up.

Seats are comfy, loads of leg room, and looked to me to have great views from anywhere. It is well air conditioned. I was only in a t-shirt and luckily I don't feel the cold, but I'd suggest girls and pussies wear a cardi or something.

Staff were pleasant. If you left for the loo they kept you outside until the end of a song, which I like for that kind of performance last night.

The bar was card only, the link bar next door looks great.

Efficient getting people in checking digital tickets and vaccine passes.

There were council employees outside assisting parking and traffic.

It was pricey I guess, but it is an excellent experience. (y)

Seats were comfy? They are are the hardest seats in the world!!!!

Went to see Damon Albarn there a couple of weeks ago.

Are we talking about Shakespeare’s Globe? They are just wooden benches aren’t they? And yes very uncomfortable unless you hire a cushion. Mind you did they put chairs in the “pit” where you usually stand?

Just dawned on me. Lefty couldn’t have been talking about the The Globe Theatre in London as he wouldnt have mentioned the comfy seats.
And a quick look at Nick Cave’s tour he means the Globe Stockton!
😂

Move the whole lot to Boro or even Redcar and we'll have a winner. 😉😉😉😉 Only kidding been to 4 gigs in Stockton in last couple of weeks and been brilliant.

Been twice in the last month. Beautiful venue but couple of issues.
First visit Chris Ramsey: we couldn’t get anywhere near the bars.
Visit two - John Bishop last Friday .... arrived earlier in the hope of getting a couple of drinks and joined queue outside. People - including wheelchair users - stood in gale force wind and sleet courtesy of Storm Arwen. Why the gathered management/staff inside didn’t consider opening up a touch earlier than 7pm is beyond me. Punters could have got in out of the inclement weather, dried off and put more money over the bar in the meantime. Win win surely. Hopefully just teething problems.

Where was the parking? I just bought tickets for Steve Hackett.
We parked on Church Road near the Hilton, there were a few spaces, but I had parked on the opposite side of the road, facing the wrong direction, took me bloody ages to get out (my own fault). We were going to park at Wellington Square, but seen that space on the way.

We went to see Ant Middleton the other night, it was full but easy enough to get served at the bar in "the stalls" bit. The show was ok, a bit more like a seminar, but the sound system and lights look like they would be good for a "proper show".

Not sure on the decor in there mind, but assume they've tried to retain the original colours? Nobody in their right mind would chose those colours nowadays.

I've seen Steve Hacket and Jools Holland, enjoyed both. 👍

Went to see Jools a few weeks ago, great venue. As already said loads of leg room, comfy seats, great acoustics. And living in Norton no faffing about booking rooms overnight or deciding who's driving....straight out on to the number 36 bus and home within 10 mins 😁😁😁
