Just watching the highlights on BBC2. What on earth is going on with the spectators shouting out bizarre things on every shot? Is this normal?

Yes watched it yesterday and it ***ed me off
I went earlier in the week and didn't hear any shouting and we were talking about how good it is that that behaviour wasn't present at a UK held event but it seems we must have just been lucky to not hear it.
Watching on TV it seems to be most common where the big players are which means it's people doing it when they think they are more likely to be on TV. They are just attention seekers. There's always someone that has to ruin it for the rest.
