GOLF!

Very useful golf gadget to be fair, have a look at Arccos if you've not heard them. The dashboard shows all your shots gained, and handicaps for driving, approach, chipping, sand and putting. Tracks the groupings of your shots, and provides actual ranges for each club that are realistic.

Yeah technology definitely helps, I found my scores improved when I started using a GPS watch because I was more aware of how far I hit each club.

I was stuck on 11 for quite a few years when I was coming down. Short game was the issue ,chipping and wedges the 'scoring shots'. Knowing how far each club could go with 1/2 , 3/4 and full shots brought my handicap to a 4.5. But hit the fairways in the right place is the start of it driver only required 3 or 4 holes, putter on every green. So you need to know where you are losing shots and why.

Some interesting thoughts on here, hitting it long will not improve you if you dont have a solid approach game and putt well. Best thing you can focus on is finding fairways and greens consistently, however that plays best for you. I play off 1, im not a big hitter, my 8 iron and 9 iron are key to that. I know if i can get within 120-145 on a Par 4, in good shape, im going to hit it close, so i plan my hole for that. So the best thing you can do is learn your strength area, practice it, get your gapping right on a trackman system and then repeat it round after round. That said, the biggest thing you can do is actually enjoy it and dont get too bogged down in the game. Good luck!

The gist of it seems to be play to your strengths. As obvious as that sounds, course management is key.

Its not rocket science really, you just need to make small, gradual improvements to most areas of your game.

Playing and practicing more will do that anyway.
