Great result but that was putrid.

I'm far too positive and I recognise that, I irritate myself with my refusal to allow anyone to criticise anyone or anything to do with the Boro....but I do genuinely think some people are ridiculously harsh at times.
We've a great and very likeable manager, we always try and play good football, we have some excellent young prospects for the future and despite an incredible run of bad luck with injuries we've won 15 games out of 22 are just outside the playoffs and have reached our first Semi Final in 18 years.

The fact we've done that with about 13 fit players, especially in the last couple of game laden weeks, should be reason for a lot of praise for the players and club.

On the flip side, we should have battered Rotherham by 4 or 5 on Boxing Day yet lost 1-0. To rub salt in the wounds, our keeper didn’t have a save to make and the goal was a flukey cross.

That’s football. Take the points and move on.

We know we were nowhere near our best last night, but thankfully we usually perform much better than that. It’d be nice if we could start to capitalise on our better performances by converting some chances.

Considering the issues we have with injuries and not being able to play a recognised striker, it’s kind of understandable. I don’t think we are that far off. Some key players coming back and some shrewd additions in January will make a huge difference.

For me, it’s always been about making sure we’re in and around the play off pack come January. We’ve dropped points in games we should have won. Last year we probably peaked a little too early. We’re nicely placed for a big push between now and May.

Still a long road to go. It’s going to be a very important transfer window!

Don't really see the issue?
We did not play well last night.

Even Carrick admitted as much.

It's a big win, but it doesn't magically make it a good performance because we got 3 points.

It was comfortably our worst in the last 7 days, what's the problem with discussing that?
I said on the match thread where has our midfield gone so I have no problem criticising, using the term putrid is bang out of order and makes them sound like a spoilt brat throwing toys out the pram.

If people only want to watch a winning team playing great football then i stand by the comment of they should support man city.
