As a kid I remember feeling a bit sick watching that oneWhen we watched it as part of A-level History, the episode on Genocide was the only lesson we were allowed to walk out of if we wanted/needed to. Images that are still seared onto my concious 38 years later!
There's quite a lot missing, especially regarding Barbarossa, the eastern front, the Red Army's advance westwards and their brutality towards German - and other - civilians and looting. Much of this info only came to light after the end of the Iron Curtain and Soviet breakup.End of thread really.
One thing, though that's missing - it was made when the activities of Bletchley Park were still top secret so the work of Turing and his code breakers doesn't get a mention, and we now know that was one of the most important parts leading up to the final result.
BTw I have the box set
It’ll just be video of a load of blokes sitting in front of laptops operating ROVs and Drones.Hopefully nothing like it will ever get made again - not looking forward to the WWIII version.
Even the third series was brilliant and exception to the rule of ressurection of stuff after loads of time has gone by.'Twin Peaks' is the greatest TV series of all time.
I hope there's not a third series of World at War.Even the third series was brilliant and exception to the rule of ressurection of stuff after loads of time has gone by.
Wonder Years
The Soprano's
Mad Men
Rome
Some honourable mentions
Cheers zzzzz, will give that a go.I highly recommend the Witness Podcast series on BBC iplayer if you love the World at War.
Brilliant historical radio
Years ago in the Dam we visited Anne Frank's House. Our visit coincided with a bus trip of German students who were mostly in floods of tears the whole time we were in there. When we watched it as part of A-level History, the episode on Genocide was the only lesson we were allowed to walk out of if we wanted/needed to. You're not too far wrong. The third series is a bit iffy. Best episode is his honour the penguin which Tim Burton's second movie was based on.No it's the 1960's Batman tv series.

Never ever forget.
I think you have to be decisive.Just off the top of my head in this moment..
Game of thrones was surprisingly very good
band of brothers was excellent, couldn’t get into the pacific though .
breaking bad also very good, although a fair few episodes were rubbish, mainly the jesse ones, the lad can’t act for ****.
gambit, the chess thing was exceptionally well done
hmmm to pick one out of many is impossible
