Nowhere near that. Gyokeres is only 25 and has been doing it for last 3/4 seasons. I really hope we keep Chuba but if £15m comes in he's got to go.

He's done it for 2 seasons, prior to that he had 3 average to poor loans to second tier clubs.

He's been superb for Coventry since they signed him permanently though.
Low fee, huge return.

The age factor will play a big part though, being 2 and a half years younger is a decent difference.

Probably half. One year left on on contract (like VG). VG is younger and a far better goal scoring recored.

I've watched both in the flesh. VG is an absolute beast. The best player I've seen against Boro for 2 years.

Absolutely bullied us everytime we've played them. I'm stunned a mid or lower prem side doesn't pick him up at that price.

A cr#p prem side on the back foot for 70mins. I'd have him up top causing havoc with his strength.

Edit.... I have no doubt we would have gone for him had we been promoted. I doubt any Boro fan would have said 'not for me' at that price.

I don’t think VG is a better footballer than Chuba. In fact I’d say Chuba is a better all round player.

However VG is younger and more of an out and out striker, hence why I think Chuba would be valued a little less.

So £20 million.

Chubas best season was 7 goals before last year. I mean Flint once had a better season as a CB.

He's a 28 year old 'forward' and his best season was 7. That don't make him a 15mil + CF. I'm a Boro fan yet that's ridiculous.

I'm maybe being bold or in a minority... Yet I'd have VG ahead of Chuba for next season in a heart beat.

Why would you exclude last year's goals but increase his age?

He was either a 26 year old forward with his best season being 7 in 23 league games (8 in 33 with play-offs), or he's currently a 27 year old forward with his best season being 28 league goals in 38 games.

Everton Brentford Burnley etc .. 15 mil plus double his wage ..

Champ team .. the same ££ ( one of the four best players in the league last year forward wise )

VG will likely do for Lisbon , what he did to to most clubs at the top of the English championship.. bully them and still score ..
Can see him worth 50 - 60 mill in 18 months time

( Like the lad who couldn't hit a barn door for Liverpool last year )

I can't. He didn't look that special against us in any of the 3 games. The odd spark. I can see this being his peak, being on Everton's or someone's bench for the season, then back to the Championship

Also, for me, we should cash in on Chuba. He had an immense season, not just the goals but the link up play - he changed our season around. But he ran out of steam at the end. He's a lovely guy but I think it was blip.

If VG scores 30 for Lisbon .
Scores a few in big games .. he's worth double it ( not in my world , but in mason mount price world )
Consistent goalscorers , esp with multiple league experience..

I'd swap him all day for chuba .. as wonderful as he is, and a complete gent ( as far as I'm aware)
He terrified this division, and did it at a less offensive minded club than us .

If I was prem top half. I'd punt on chuba's footballing.. if bottom half, I'd go with VG ..

There isn’t too much between the two although I think Chuba has the edge with heading skills. Personally I think Boro won’t sell him for the simple reason he’s quite a big risk to take at £15m, a price which I think could trigger a move.
 
Chuba is worth less but he's worth more than two thirds of the price - I would put Chuba at £17m.

Chuba improved a lot last season and his goals per minute are ahead of Gyokeres.

Got to disagree with you saying he didnt look special against us. The last game of the season he bullied us, just because he didnt score means he didnt look special. He constantly looked a threat and as another has said further up in the thread, if it was a choice between him and Chuba, It would be VG all day every day.
