Picked it up through the wifi in a hotel in Greece

Started losing a few emails and put it down to config settings.

But tonight I tired to pay a hefty balance on a villa in the South of France through Airbnb but I couldnt input the verification code that you get from your bank by text. Keyboard just wouldnt work.
Tried a few cards before I realised what was happening.

They had the payment page tagged onto my Airbnb account looking exactly like the real thing.
Two numbers to ring for help one, an 0800 number that didn;t work and another.... I googled it and bingo its a scammers number.

Only posting this as a warning. They've been into my system for 5 weeks. Access to emails, my Company Accounts, everything. I've reinstalled Windows and changed every password and btw I ran AVG and it found nothing.

Daft I know but I feel violated. Second time I've been close to getting caught by online scammers. I can only imagine what the less tech savvy/more gullible feel like when they do get caught by the scumbags.

BTW my password is FMTTMzzzzz

Did you use a VPN when you used the public WiFi?

BTW looking further into it looks like Aurbnb systems are vulnerable as well. Don't save any payment details on there folks.

As a matter of interest was the Greek hotel part of a well known chain or a small independent one through which these scammers operated?

Just two hotels in the group. I turned my laptop on once. I think maybe they got me initially through the phone.
I've reinstalled windows 11 but not convinced it's clean I can't change the PIN which worries me that that's how they get in
