Still think "we" should get a Bank Holiday for it, like the other home nations do for their saint

Was in the labour manifesto, the others dont currently get one, still we got brexit done which matters above all else
 
St George is deeply buried in Christianity and is of Italian Greek origin. Certainly the christian church would be keen to have a day to remember all martyrs Of the Church. I always though St Alban should have been the patron saint of England
 
A lad of Greek and Palestinian heritage who served in the Roman Army.
What connection has he got with England?

Do the Brexiteers know that George was born in Turkey, never set foot in England and wasn't actually a knight? 🤣

St Alban was the first English martyr and would have been an ideal English Saint to recognise.

St Geroges Day and "proud to be English" = two seperate things.
Accident of birth.
Too blummin wet here - Id prefer to have been hatched on mainland Europe: South of France, Spain or Southern Italy(y)
