Hartlepool MP Jill Mortimer

This is a very dangerous person who seeks to demonise all asylum seekers purely to stir racial hatred in Hartlepool as a tool for her own re-election. Let hope and compassion win out over evil. I hope the more informed people in Hartlepool will reject this bile at election time. We now face a clear choice - evil racism from increasingly hard right Tories or a decent society that treats all people as human beings and looks at all asylum cases quickly and makes individual judgements based on the evidence and information in front of them. That is a what a Labour government is committed to doing. Shame on you Jill Mortimer .

13 years and any issue they've tackled has become demonstrably worse, I have no issue with Asylum Seekers but surely any Party claiming to be solving the 'immigration problem' whilst the numbers increase has singularly failed in their promises and this failure to offer workable solutions is pushing them further and further towards extremes that really should be unpalatable to all.

Any person fleeing persecution should be protected and helped by the Government not demonised and sub-humanised, the notion that those displaced from say the Ukraine are more entitled than those fleeing Palestine is blatantly and clearly wrong.

You're going to see more and more of this from Tory MP's as we draw closer to a General Election. They won't win a single vote based on anything they have done since the last GE, so they will stoke the fires of bigotry and attempt to blame literally anyone else but themselves for the mess they have caused.

the torys have lost a once in a lifetime chance to grow on the 80 seat majority through inept and greedy government . I doubt i will ever see a tory government again after 2025

Sadly as much as you would think that would be the case, history tells us otherwise.

Labour will be coming into power with no money to spend but all the problems to fix, which is all already their fault according to the Tories.
They could learn from the current mob, if after over a decade Labour make things considerably worse they can describe themselves as the party for change, seems to be swallowed by some.

She'll be gone.

Cutting edge political performance.
