Houchen and Stilts want to take over the council

This might not be such a bad thing guys, someone needs to get a hold of the finances, even with the proposed cuts there is still a 6M shortage. I really don't want to pay 40BAR for disposing of my grass cuttings 😕

And let me get this right, you think letting one of the people primarily responsible for Middlesbrough's current situation and another person who dodges democratic oversight with a billion £ budget and suspected of lining the pockets of his mates with public money is a good idea to fix the problem?

Good job you are not a shepherd mate or that wolf you trust to mind your sheep would have a field day.

Making a big deal about the financial year 2022/23 not ending in December 2023?

Have I understood that right?

Then speaking of a fire sale which hasn’t happened.. and complaining of overspends which have been initiated and signed off by their very own.

Now the chap who has overseen a huge transfer of public assets placed into private hands at very little cost and monumental personal gain.. is wanting they keys to the council to look like the big boss man (and to snaffle away any last bits of real estate)

You are right, suggestions from the audit have been made to save money and balance the books.

If you think Clarke or Houchen will save you that £40 you care about though you are very VERY wrong.

Boro council is in this position in a huge part because of Tory mismanagement and underfunding.

In Redcar we are introducing £40 waste fee and when you explain to the residents why (to avoid what has happened in Boro) they are understanding of it.

Guess not all residents think about themselves at teh expense of their community.
