Anybody watch it? Watched the last of the season last night
Really got into it. Maybe a touch slow compared to GoT’s but overall thought it was very well done

When I saw the maester on Dragonstone, all I could think was...

TARG LIFE!

(I've been saving that all day, but my wife hasn't seen the show)

I finished reading Fire and Blood last week and the savagery which follows events in the series makes it more difficult to wait two years to see how they put it on screen.

We started it last night and watched the first 2 episodes. I can tell already it is going to pull me in entirely like Game of Thrones did. The only slight criticism I would level after the first 2 is that there isn’t nearly the vast tapestry of characters that made Game of Thrones so good early one. Suppose there is time yet though.

more defined story which I like, not as character driven as GOT. the final one was a tad disappointing, usually the last in series is a bit special and sometimes longer to cram it all in.. just felt like another episode with lulls.... roll on 2023

I decided to watch it maybe because GOT was so good and I had to get a fix. Initially it was a bit slow and lacked the same impact as GOT but I think by episode 4 it became more intriguing and definitely on par with GOT.

Expected release is 2024, shows have gone 2 years between season it seems since covid

Great final episode of the season. I'm sure I read somewhere that the writers turned down a Megabucks deal from Netflix as Netflix wanted them to get straight into the action of the upcoming civil war whereas the writers wanted to use the first season to explain the back stories of the various houses and families involved which HBO would be allowing them to do much like Game of Thrones first two seasons.

Filming begins on the second season next year looking for a release halfway through 2024.

Been a great first season and was lovely to see dragon in dragon fight in the finallee. Its a shame have to wait so long until season 2.

It's absolutely class, it's been better than game of thrones for me. Matt Smith and Rhys Ifans have been fantastic in it, shout out to Paddy Considine too!

Can't wait for season two, the finale set everything up brilliantly!

It will have been a much series being with hbo. They’ve also learnt from their mistake and George r Martin as had much more input.

Hate this new industry standard of 2 years between series now though

I'll be gutted if it's 2024. I read that filming of series 1 started in April 2022 in Cornwall so I'm still hopeful for next year.

Defo going to be 2 years I think, filming is in early 2023 and then they'll have to do all the cgi and effects so be surprised if they do that next year given the production value

Series one filming started in 2021 and production wrapped Feb 2022

Hard ask for the actors isn’t it. 7 series with a 2 year turnaround means keeping the same stupid haircut and not being able to do much else for 14 years! Which is hard going if the characters aren’t meant to age that much too.

Suspect shows will speed up production now COVID isn’t a factor in shooting.

Ahh ok, I've read duff info then. Shame it's such a long wait, it's rare I enjoy anything on TV as much as this.

Finished it earlier in the week. It's excellent. Paddy Considine is incredible in it I thought.
I must admit I got lost with the names of the characters at times as they all sound the same! 😆
A solid 9/10.

One thing that struck me watching is that as long it’s done well they could keep making Game of Thrones spin offs forever if they wanted. There is so much material and back story to be explored it could literally become a TV dynasty not even close to being seen before.

Only thing is the more of these the do the more side projects GRRM has on the go at once, he's already confirmed he will deviate from the show so he needs to hurry TF up and finish it off.

I used to think that was quite funny back in the day when it referenced the 6 years wait for dance with dragons. it's been 11 years now since the last book which is just ridiculous. He needs to just lock himself away and finish it off because at the current rate he's at real risk of popping his clogs before he finishes the last book

Ye that happened with stranger things didn’t it where the actors aged quickly
