How’s it gone so wrong so quickly

We lost 45-50m worth of player and decided to replace them with 7m worth of punts.

The odd player will come good but generally you get what you pay for… and it shows.

It’s unfortunate Carrick has to carry the can for this new ‘model’ yet old dinosaurs have free reign to splurge 7m on Flint and 7m on Saville.
 
Lose out in the playoffs, lose a boat load of attacking talent and invest in a load of players nowhere near ready for the rigours of the Championship.
Some of them might be ok with a season behind them, but I don't think we have time for that to happen.

But could you argue cov lost the same and those were first team players.

They lost their top scorer and best overall player.
 
It's all recruitments fault St Michael has nothing to do with it and he will walk away the angel he is.

No other teams lose players and replace them with rubbish.

The raras are a sad kind of animal.
 
Football is no different to any workplace, it is all about good recruitment and ensuring positive retention.

Scott is far from living up to the hype, he has given Carrick inferior, cheap, projects and we have seen that before.

Coaching and team selection can not be ignored though. Start picking the best players who have proven their league credentials and stop experimenting with projects. Need to get back to basics.

Carrick can’t keep repeating the same guff mind. Sheffield Weds is a must win, lose that and I fear what will happen.
 
Bottom line is we’ve replaced every single first team player we lost this summer, with vastly inferior players.
Understandable in some cases, given the quality of Ramsey, Archer, Akpom. But nevertheles, that’s why we are looking a million miles away from where we were.
 
I've noticed MC has fallen into the trap of playing 'his signings ' too...

Very dangerous and happens to many managers, I'd be susceptible to that I think.
 
A donkey upfront, two cart horses as centre backs and a league one midfield. Hope that helps, but I told you most of that in January after you lost your cup final 👍

But Scott is working under the restraints of Gibson though, so Gibson has to take a large part of the blame too.
