Death penalty is too kind for them though. Why should they be allowed to escape from what they did? I get that they probably feel no remorse or guilt or shame at the minute, because clearly they are wired all wrong, but giving them a fast out ensures that they definitely won’t ever suffer for what they did.
I’d like to think they will be subjected to frequent beatings, abuse, bullying and be outcast in prison and made to suffer and one day the guilt and shame of what they have done will catch up with them and they’ll suffer. Nobody likes child killers, not even hardened criminals. Maybe that’s me being naive, but surely they have more to lose by one day living in fear and torment in prison than by being given a painless route out?
They’d possibly even chose the death option, given the choice.
That poor little lad. Heartbreaking, and maybe it’s my imagination, but these horrific stories seem to be appearing in the news much more frequently these days? More must be done to improve our social care system and to support social workers and give them the tools and man power to be able to find and intervene in more of these situations.
