How many players are needed

Can't afford to loose anymore.Id say 2 strikers a proven scorer as one of them, replacements for Tav and Payero,a left sided central defender.Hope watmore doesn't leave.
 
2 center halfs, 1 left footed one for depth
2 midfielders, like for like replacements for Payero & Tav
3 strikers - Muniz, Hoppe + 1 more
Possibly a DM to rival Howson.

Think that pretty much covers it for now. I think we know who the two preferred forwards are.

If we get both? Then probably move on two of Akpom / Watmore or Coburn (loan). We only need 5.

The left CB is an interesting one. It's clearly for balance. Yet it would interesting to see who makes up the back 3 presuming Linihan and the new left footer are starters. I guess that leaves Paddy as more of a midfield option. His ability to play in a few positions may save us a few quid (short term).

We've not really been linked with any CMs. So it will be interesting to see who we feel can replace Tav. I have a feeling it's going to be very difficult. I imagine some of the Tav doubters will see just see how important he was to this 'style' in the next few games. Mcgree is not 'like for like' as some suggest.

If we land one of both of Armstrong and Muniz we'd be far better than last year. The players who have already come in look an improvement on the outgoings. The squad is thin. I still think the starting 11 is as good as anything in the league.

I may say different later 😂

Adam Armstrong, Cameron Archer, Callum O’Hare, Hamza Choudhury and Jacob Greaves would be my ideal 5 signings. Wouldn’t mind the look of Hoppe but I’d rather go for proven players at this level👍

I'd be very happy with that, but I don't think there's much chance of them all.

Southampton have no intention of loaning out Armstrong, O'Hare would cost a bomb, and Greaves would be expensive too.

I'd say we should still try for Greaves though, get that LCB on a permanent and cemented.
 
As a minimum 5 for me

1 centre back - needs to be comfortable on the left
2 central midfielders
2 forwards

Anything must be an improvement from last year.
