Roughly to keep in FFP, after the £2.5m on Azaz, how much without outgoings do we have left?
 
I'd say about 7 million ish depends on player sales though and guess we earned a few quid from this semi final and being on BBC one for FA Cup 3rd round
 
I seem to remember that after our last cup run under wilder it been reported the extra revenue from that allowed us to buy McGree, that said we did play bigger teams that time around
 
We were reported to be "in for" Varzquez in some capacity and he's now going to Monterrey for £7 million+...

Total speculation but I assume that means we were priced out of the deal (or deemed him not worth it) - But it should also mean we have at least 5 - 6 mill to spend?

It's not as simple as having an amount to spend. Where they are coming from makes all the difference. We paid about £1.5m for Engel and we would pay £1.5m for Greenwood but one coming from the Danish league and one coming from the PL will have vastly different wage demands and therefore total cost.

There's also a big difference between the amount of cash we have to spend and the amount we are allowed to spend under FFP. We could have £50m of FFP space and Gibson allows us to spend £5m or vice versa.

We should have plenty of FFP space so it depends on Gibson. The model is but cheap, develop and sell for a profit so it should depend on whether the right player that fits the model is available. Unlikely we're going to be spending £7m on a player at their peak value.
 
We need to adopt the Todd Boehly model… get Vasquez in for £7m on a a 10 year contract! Only 700k a year

Broadcast fees for the next week
BBC FA cup is only about 60k
Sky championship fee is about 100k , I'd expect a semi final in EFL cup to be no more than 150k
However 2 good gate receipts does help .
 
That's just prize money, so it won't include broadcasting fees.

It was £200,000 broadcasting fee per club for the quarter finals of the FA Cup last season.
Obviously the League Cup is a less prestigious competition, but it's also Sky paying the fee.

Could be a decent earner when ticket sales are included.

We must be in a pretty decent FFP position. This is the first season that we have finally got rid of the failed Garry Monk experiment completely. Just finally getting Britt and Fletcher off the FFP window is 8m wiggle room on FFP. Compared to last season. That's before taking into account Akpom sale, although some of that is has been eaten up. We've also increased attendances and will earn approx 1m unbudgetted bonus for playing chelsea. I'd guess on FFP we must still have a good 6-8m free. Doesn't mean we will spend that, we won't, unless we reach the League Cup Final, windfall from that would fund one big jan signing.
