McLaren pair on the front row.

Shocking day though for Russell and Perez (you’re getting sacked in the morning) who were out of qualifying in Q1.

Can McLaren get their dung together tomorrow with a win?

Lando and Oscar need to work together to keep Max behind in the run to the first corner.
If Perez is still drving for Red Bull after the summer break I'll eat my hat.

Perez didn't get put of Q1?? I heard red bull brought some low speed upgrades to the car. Which at the super slow Hungaroring should have been perfect

He seemed more on the pace this weekend than he had for months until the crash

Seems Horner wants him and the rest of the high level people within the team don’t. Guessing that’s what is keeping him in his seat

This is where Max doesn't do himself any favours. 3 into 1 corner doesn't go and he was always going to run out of space first being on the outside. Why argue with your team's advice?

It’s a dumb decision by McLaren. Norris is the only driver with a chance of catching Verstappen this season, however slim that chance might be. Throwing away the chance of narrowing the gap by a further 7 points is an admission that they don’t think the title is a possibility.

First of all, congratulations to Oscar. He would have won the race anyway had he received first service at the pit stop.

Chumps of the day, the McLaren pit wall and it's atrocious handling of the situation.

Hero of the day, Verstappen's race engineer for telling him what many fans would want to do also. Max, you're just a big baby.

Childish & petulant Max,
Ruinous strategy by McLaren
Pyrrhic victory for Oscar.. not one he'll recall with enthusiasm in the future.. almost insulting..
Lando, will be looking at bigger contracts & teams I think, McLaren just keep making bad decisions..

I think that sums it up nicely.
It's nice for Piastri of course. But does not make any sense from a championship point of view. You can see today that Verstappen has not changed and is likely to chuck points away due to his immaturity if he is not in the best car. But McLaren obviously think that the WDC is beyond their reach, which is a shame.
