I am worried ..

.. after watching today's performance .. it just felt to me like one of 'them' moments .. accepting we are now genuinely fighting to beat the drop this season and life to me, seems beaten out of most of the senior players post-Wilder. No fire in the belly.

Whatever happened with CW for them to become so subdued from the spirit we saw when we were knocking it out the park vs. Spurs in the cup last season to now, Michael Carrick must have some balls taking on this job now. He has his work cut out. :ROFLMAO:

Though we were closer to the drop with fewer games to go than we are now the time when Warnock arrived and saved us, there is just something about us at the minute that really concerns me regarding safety this season. Ridiculous it has come to this from being promotion hopefuls over the Summer ..

I honestly hope I am wrong, these players are good enough to get in the middle of this league, at least. We need Jones geeing up, and the likes of Fry back to the player we know he is. We know Muniz will score goals particularly if we get Jones and Giles back on form .. should Muniz have a spell out injured, though .. we will be blunt as it gets

Whatever Carrick's plans are, we will see. I am intrigued. I am hoping he brings through more of our youth successfully and perhaps will be good for contacts in the loan market from the likes of Utd .. we desperately need more in come the next window. I just hope we aren't too far adrift come to that point ... I wish it would arrive now so we can get some fresh faces in to inspire us

Such a shame to see. Milwall is always an ugly place to go and once we went a goal down, I knew we'd get nothing .. unfortunate timing to have to go there at the moment but it is done now, on to the next game as the cliche goes ..

I appreciate Leo's efforts in the meantime, it must be hard trying to lift this bunch right now.

Best of luck to Michael Carrick, which seems nailed on .. I just don't understand Gibbo at times. Risking a rookie with the remit in hand is odd, but I guess that is how Boro has done it on many occasions. I could not name a manager anyway off the top of my head to do the job, so whatever folks' feelings are re; Carrick, we have to be patient and get behind him or we're in trouble

Let's hope for a Karanka-style revival

UTFB and best of luck to the squad for the rest of the season .. Perhaps it is just me having a bad day making it seem worse than it is! I hope so.

Today reminded me of the feeling when Malcolm Allison was here.
He built a steady side out of the remnants and fall-out from the heady heights of the Charlton and Neal years - when we got to within touching distance of the FA Cup but losing against Orient and Wolves [so near yet so far]. Then having a team who were just short of one or two key players - only to see the team ripped to shreds with departures to Liverpool, Southampton and elsewhere.
Allison took us so far - then it was a downward trajectory - like watching the inevitable.
I know its different times and foreign money completely rules "our" game.
But it feels like "deja vu"...
I suppose the next messiah will come along and promise us "sugar-candy mountain".?

* This wasnt a bad side either

Always darkest before the dawn. But this board is honking like a post office queue.

Think i might take a couple of weeks holiday.
Indeed, they do say.

We're due some luck I just hope it is sooner than later and worse is not to come ie; relegation to L1

I don't know how we would recover from that so if the new gaffer gets us off to a decent run of results, I will be delighted

I don't blame you mate, take a couple of weeks away until the dust has settled and we'll see where we are then ... :ROFLMAO:

Fingers X'd but the squad really needs waking up. Just read that Carrick will bring the likes of Phelan and co. from Utd with him, so that kind of encourages me. A lot of experience around him there. I expected that'd happen but there was not much more info other than he was getting the role until today ...

Surely they can get us moving in the right direction. See where we are in a couple of games' time and how the lads react to the change.

I don’t feel as despondent or worried as I did under Woodgate but it’s probably more blind faith than anything. I just think the players have lost all confidence and the team is being picked on last seasons form rather than how things are now. Get us solid at the back again - we have a good keeper and decent defenders, pick the best players on form/attitude instead of reputation or how they played last season. Up front I think we have some decent options. Midfield is the main issue as we all know, but I don’t think it’s irretrievable with some new eyes and fresh ideas.
