I have just renewed

I've weakened AGAIN and renew our batch of season tickets...
When your addicted to the Boro you have little choice sadly lol..

I’ve just renewed ours. Just over a grand for our two. My missus has been about 3 times this season as doesn’t like leaving the bairn after working all week.

Probably one more season of giving her ticket away most games before we start the full indoctrination of what will be our then 3 year old! 😆

There will no doubt be a bit of a surge of sales over the next few days as those that have waited till the last minute either in protest or needed to financially renew.

It would be interesting to know how many have renewed to date

We gave in and renewed ours.

After a bit of mental gymnastics, I've convinced myself next season will definitely be better haha.

thought process, we're not a million miles off the play offs this season, and its been a poor season.

Carrick and the younger players will be more experienced after this year, the injury situation has got to improve, the league will arguably be a bit weaker, our home form has to improve and I think we will have a decent transfer window.

Just building myself up for more disappointment

I think we will have a decent transfer window.
Really?
Why do you?

I'm renewing purely out of blind loyalty to my club and a lifetime of doing so. Pure habit. Addiction.

It has to be a better season than I expect it to be, precisely because I expect a terrible summer window, a weak squad and another season closer to going down than up.

I don't really have any expectations next season.

Probably a good thing really, I am behind the manager and don't think he's to blame for our mediocre season really.

Maybe he can do something without much pressure on him? It feels like the fanbase don't have the pitchforks out for him.

I also expect another backward step. Unless there's a dramatic change in recruitment strategy from the last 12 months, we will go backwards again.

I expect to lose another key player and have another influx of cheap signings that aren't good enough to improve us into a team fighting for promotion.

That along with expensive tickets (particularly for new applicants) means I haven't been tempted to jump in next season.

I've probably spent more on walk ups this season than it would have cost me for STs which meant in January time I was seriously considering STs next season. But the new ST pricing, along with the lack of ambition in the transfer market means that I am out.

I doubt I'll go as much next season with the new TV schedule. Not because I'd rather watch on the TV but more because I really only like to go on a Saturday. Friday nights and Monday nights are crap times for matches. Sundays are all about grass roots football for me.

I just renewed.

So my outrage over the costs was futile.

I'm still deeply unhappy about it and how the club handled it, but my family were renewing and going to the match is one of the few things I still do with them, so I've sucked it up for another season.

That's a typical current position of many though.. which contradicts your username if I'm honest 🤷‍♂️
I think you should be hopeful for next season to be honest. They will have targeted the 3 or 4 positions they want to fill for some time. And they will have been looking at those likely to be relegated and will be feeling that none all of those clubs coming down will be in good shape.

This sounds very hopeful Rob.

15 of the last 18 seasons, however, have proved to be pretty fruitless in terms of achievement (and some have been enormous failures). Its not a good strike rate.

But of course I will be backing them, watching the club roll the dice once more.

Just renewed. £740 for four of us in the family zone so still think it's not too bad value but anywhere else in the ground and I'd have struggled to justify it.

Here's hoping for a good summer window (quality over quantity) and a solid pre-season with a settled squad rather than all the new faces we had last summer

Our 3 is down to 2. It's all very well talking if positions we need to buy for but we've talked about a striker for ever. Then, you suddenly get hit with a leaver who sends you rushing for another position to fill. It will be tough replacing Hackney and maybe Jones. Certainly won't get better in those positions in the Championship. Then, Howson is getting on also. Maybe another Barlaser to replace him (God help us!)

Yep I've renewed with my two sons (and brother) but my mate who I've sat next to for the last 19 seasons isn't. In fairness his personal circumstances have changed quite a lot, but I can't help but feel that if it hadn't risen to £510 and was still down towards £400 he might have just taken the plunge even if he couldn't always go.
