I think Newcastle will go down.

To be honest regardless of it being Newcastle or not I wouldn't mind Fulham staying up, as I quite like the cut of Scott Parkers jip, he does seem to properly care and comes across as a trier.

The fact that they play each other last game, I mean that's just potential gold that is.

Also again on Scott Parker, he didn't half get dogs abuse when he was at Newcastle (under Souness I believe), so I'm sure he'd want to stick the boot in.

It does pain me to say that mind having another London club staying in the top flight at the expense of a PL club but hey ho - apart from the financial gains the PL dull as dishwater anyway and would be good to have the jawdees next season especially when crowds are back.

I think this is the year that the jawdees will go down, unfortunately though, they’ll do what they always do; manage to keep hold of their best players and absolutely ’smash the league’ next season.

The fans up there slate Ashley, but he always seems to bail them out when things go wrong.

They have done the last couple of times, but they won't keep hold of ASM and I'd be surprised if Wilson wants to drop down to the championship in his prime.

Other than that Fernandez, Willock, Saivet, Atsu, Murphy, Gayle and Carroll are all out of contract.

Schar, Dummett, both the Longstaffs, have 12 months left so they will have a decision to make on those.

That doesn't leave a lot of quality left. They'll have some financial clout in the championship, but I think they're at least 4 good signings away from a championship winning side.

I've never fully understood the "miss playing them" point - I won't lie, Derby days are good fun but I'd much rather we were ranked higher than them in terms of league standings, ideally for as long as possible :)

I have thought for a while that Newcastle will go down, it will definately be touch and go. Personally I would love to see them go down, tribal nature of football and all that. No lives will be lost so it's a cause for celebration.

I'm not sure he "bails them out" as such, he's just protecting his interests. His aim is to be 4th bottom in the premier league, spend as little as possible and get the premier league income. That's why the hate him, he has no ambition for the club at all.

Ashley HAS backed them with big money signings
Joelinton £40m ,Wilson £20m , Lewis £15m , Almiron £21.6m , Maximin £16m , just for starters , £113m , but poor signings .
I think they will stay up , just , Rafa will come in and improve them next season , but I am happy to see them 4th bottom every year .
As said , we don't want the skunks relegated , if they did they will buy the league by selling the above and getting proven English quality in .
It is going to be hard enough for us without them in our league .

I think they’ll stay up and from our point of view, If they come down, it hinders us as then they’ll just buy their way back up leaving one less promotion place for us to play for.

if we went up next season and they came down so we passed them on the way, we’ll that’s different......

I can see Chris wilder getting the Newcastle job.

I am not so sure about them bouncing back.

Does it really matter?
If they stay up, it means Fulham go down.
Fulham have plenty of pedigree for bouncing back too.

Newcastle getting relegated will be funny even if they bounce back up automatically.
Just got to hope Sunderland somehow **** it up, because they look nailed on for automatic promotion promotion right now.

I have no confidence they could bounce straight back, as others as have said they have a lot out of contract and some who would not stay, so very hard for the new manager to turn around.
Their fans for all their delusions (are we any different?) care for their club, it's not their fault, so some sympathy. We all hate to see our teams lose, but when the effort being shown is below par it is the fans being short changed and we klnow how that feels.

That's not huge amounts in the premier league nowadays. He just does enough to tick over and pays decent fees for players he thinks they might profit on.
Also I can't see Rafa going back at all

Ashley is simply doing enough to milk the Prem money

They are certainly having a good go at it. I’m surprised Bruce hasn’t been sacked yet though maybe Ashley is too busy with his sale to care.funny I had a Newcastle fan associate of mine telling me how they were going to sign Lionel Messi at the beginning of this season, funny how things pan out.
They’d have as much chance getting Lionel Richie in
