One of the lads brought his 12 year old along as we were short on players. Now - I’m alright, I’m quite quick and played to a fair standard so I’m used to being targeted for rough challenges and niggly fouls etc.

But when a 12 year old is raking his studs down the back of your ankle any chance he gets and flinging the elbow in what do you do? If it was an adult I’d have flattened them. Do you just take it?

I admire it from him to be fair, the dark arts are part of football and it’ll help him out in the future. But how the hell am I supposed to retaliate

I'd have just raised an eyebrow (Roger Moore-esque) and asked politely and calmly if he wanted to play "big boys rules"?

If your quite quick and play to a decent standard.. you shouldn’t be getting battered off a 12 year old!

Just make sure you flatten his dad.
