If chelsea and Man City are relagated

If they did get relegated it would not be fair for the rest of the championship who would have no chance of the top two unless they were additional penalised or like what happened to Rangers when they were relegated a few tiers down the pyramid
If they each got a 50 point deduction then I think the max one of them could finish on would be 88 points. That sounds about right to make it a competition.

Juventus got relegated and they're the biggest club in Serie A, it's definitely possible. Guardiola though wouldn't stay I think.

The worst they'll get is a points reduction that'll be tailored to make sure they're in no danger of relegation (i.e. not too excessive), along with a two or three year transfer embargo and possibly a two or three year ban from Europe. I very much doubt the EPL as a whole will allow two of its biggest assets who draw in big money via TV revenue be tossed into another league via a relegation.

The only thing big clubs are interested in is generating money and keeping their 'brand' at the top*. Sporting integrity doesn't even register on their radars.

* the exception being the Saudis, who aren't in it for money but for PR via sportswashing British football fans and its media.

They haven't got the minerals to relegate either team.

Man City are huge for the image of the PL. They bring in so much revenue and attention.

Premier League will probably just hit them with a points deduction or something....that's even if they find them guilty...which they clearly are, but we all know money talks...

Agree, I don't think it will happen.

Already think Everton's punishment has been set deliberately high in order to bring it back down on appeal.
Everton should have been punished last year and relegated.
Neither City or Chelsea will be relegated as a result of their punishment so it makes a mockery of the sporting competition aspect if you don't get penalised for continually having an advantage.
Clubs entering administration get punished massively, yet clubs who continually flout the financial rules suffer little consequence in comparison. Docking City 50 points would still probably see them survive so where is the punishment in that? One year of not winning the league is hardly harsh.

Isn't the punishment set by the panel? I don't think there are any "automatic penalties" so to speak? Might have it wrong though.

I believe you're right, but that is part of the issue I think.
If there was a list of penalties then it might deter a lot of the financial shenanigans that some clubs see as routine business.
I'm sure the threat of compulsory relegation would be more of a deterrent than a massive fine.

They should instead be given a 20 point deduction at the start of the next 3 seasons - or however long the financial irregularities have been going on for.
