Would we be better at the moment if we played Jones and Giles as wide midfielders opposed to wing backs?.

Have Dijksteel and Bola as convential full backs and Fry and Leniham as centre halves

Howson, Crooks, McNair,Mowatt, battling out for two central midfielders spots, rotating if need be.

McGree and a forward up front

It feels having 4 out and out defenders would help reduce the goals conceeded and there would more round pegs in round holes.

Not a chance Wilder would play that formation on a regular basis
 
I don't think it would make a difference if we did what we were supposed to do defensively. When we attack down the right Dijksteel gets forward like a FB, Jones plays as a winger and Crooks plays as the RCM. When that is happening Bola should stay alongside Lenihan and 2 of Mowatt, Giles and Howson should cover.

Basically, if Howson drops back when one of the CBs gets forward then it is the same as a 442 anyway.
