Ifollow gone from next season

I hope Sky put on a proper service. I watched the last game on the red button (just easier on the device I was using) and was shocked at how appalling the service was. The picture was like old SD quality, a single camera view that didn't always keep up with the ball, a commentator who plainly didn't know all the players names and didn't always spot when subs were made (he missed the Engel -> Thomas swap completely) and just chatted in the vaguest sense about what he was seeing on screen, it was obvious that he was not at the ground, no replays at all, the signal just goes off at half time. I could go on. To be fair it would be hard to make it worse.

I guess that for the 3pm away games I will still be able to take a quick flight to "Estonia" if I need to, probably just buy the games as and when rather than the season ticket I have bought the last few years.

They're taking over the iFollow cameras, so it'll be the same standard of picture as that.

The commentary on the other hand...

Ok, so i live in a really obscure european country called Coulby Newham. None of you have probably heard of it.

How would i watch the 3pm saturday kickoffs? Will it still be available to buy on the boro site or will it be through sky somehow?

iFollow service (or suchlike) likely to be still available outside the UK to buy via the boro website.

Same way as you do it now.

It won't change for international broadcast.

Apparently:-
  • So will Sky Sports OTT mean single camera production like iFollow?
    • The EFL and Sky Sports will continue to work together to innovate, seeking opportunities to improve coverage and take viewers closer to the action
    • The EFL will be investing significantly in production infrastructure to enhance the viewing experience.
    • Sky Sports will have a minimum of eight cameras for each game broadcast on existing channels
    • A minimum of four cameras will be used at Championship and League One matches, and a minimum of two cameras in League Two
    • For matches available to stream, Sky Sports commentary will also be provided

Yeah, Red Button feels like you've hacked into the stadium CCTV.

Fingers crossed we actually get to see video replays next season.

iFollow hasn't been single camera production for a few years now.

All well and good
But what about those who don’t have Sky?
Those who prefer to pay direct to the club?

I really wish everyone would stick 2 fingers up to Sky and Virgin

They would soon alter their ways and f everybody turned their back on them. *

* I am fully aware it is very unlikely to happen
