In praise of EV'S

When you charge an EV you also don’t have to go into the petrol station shop to pay (waiting behind 15 people with baskets full of shopping). It all happens by magic at home whilst you have your feet up, drinking a riggwelter next to the fire.
What if you don't have a charging point at home?

Depends on your taste of course but to use a sweeping statement such as "eyesore" when there's such a variety smacks of ignorance. Look at these and tell me what wrong with all of them?

I think the real game changer for EV was Tesla, before which manufacturers seemed to think they had to design something that was the motoring equivalent to a pair of Nature Treks (apologies to the younger board members).

Nissan Leaf's and Toyota Prius' have been replaced by a generation of exciting EV's, which the majority of people actually want to own.

Pretty pointless thread really as regardless of your needs, ST and the other guy will always recommend an EV - even if they are not suitable. List the downsides of EVs (of which there are quite a few) and they will simply make excuses and spin things in favour of them. EV fanboys and some.

For me, people who like real car ownership shouldn't go anywhere near one. If you're someone who is willing to take on a significant monthly payment/liability and swaps vehicles regularly, they might be a feasible option. But none of these EVs are proven over a long period of time. They are not tried and tested and if the battery fails out of warranty, there will be a possible 5 figure repair bill.

So you were lying when you said all EVs are eyesores. I figured as much

That's a new one and priced at close to £100k I'd imagine... Hardly realistic is it?

The rest are horrific. Teslas being the worst... Panel gaps a pedestrian could fall in.

It wasn't a comment it was a question. Not really sure what was odd about it either. I'm not part of the EV community.
Fair enough. I guess that's why there's so many comments about refuelling that seem strange to me. No you don't pay in a shop

I don't think I posted a picture of a Tesla. Out of interest what type of ICE car do you like the look off? I posted such a variety of cars in my two posts. Either you're lying about not liking them or you're just ignoring the ones you don't mind

Why would you start your post with a blatant lie?

Maybe read the thread again and retract that

I never said you did, just people normally bang on about them as the EV champions.

I like many different ICE cars... Basically one's that don't look like they have been built for 2035.
