With Ben Fogle is on C5 now.

I'll watch anything on this subject, I've got a morbid fascination with it.

Anyone on here been?

Always found it interesting, sadly had planned to visit this year but doubt it’s going to be possible for a good few years now

I went a couple of years ago, I did an amazing private tour and managed to get to places most tours don’t go.

Even before the war the way nature was taking the city back is breath taking to say the least, I don’t think tours would have run for many years longer.

We also took in an abandoned Russian radar military base, which was unbelievable in size.

Kiev was a fantastic city too, some lovely buildings and felt very safe.

Always been interested, as I'm into urban exploring and I'm fascinated by abandoned places, but in my heart I know I'm almost certainly never going to actually do it. I don't really have the time or money for an excursion like that at the moment. Love looking at other people's pics, though.

I'd love to go here. I also have a fascination with abandoned places. I have watched so many videos of people who haven't gone here on a tour and stayed for a few nights.

That’s ok if you stay in one of the buildings, you risk your life sleeping outside there. All the radiation is in the dust, inside the buildings will pretty much be ok, as the all out would not have landed inside.

We had a giga counter and it showed fairly normal background radiation, but the guide moved it a couple of feet and towards the ground and the radiation was 2000x what it was in the air.

All the troops moving through the area could have significant impact on the radioactive soil and dust in the area, kicking it up and moving it around.

After doing the tour I wouldn’t advise going there without a guide, it felt safe(ish) with someone who knows the place like the back of their hand. I was only exposed to the same amount of radiation you get from about a 3hr flight.

I've always wanted to go too, and this year would have been the most likely until this all kicked off.

Might not ever get to go now, but would much rather they got shot of the Russians of course.

I’ve been planning to go for years but covid put a stop to that. And now this terrible war.

If you need an abandoned fix, have a drive out to Groverake mine in weardale. There’s an abandoned farmhouse nearby, called Wolfcleugh. It’s really worth exploring .

The best I ever got was the old Poole Hospital building, and the mansion which is now apartments
