Jason Mandford - Rubbish issue

When I go fishing I tend to spend the first 10 minutes clearing any discarded line or rubbish in or around my peg before I start fishing for the simple fact that I would hate anyone to think it was my rubbish that I have thrown away.

One of my last Silver DofE groups collected litter walking from Great Broughton to Lealholm as part of their Aim (one of the sections they need to complete). On the first day, they had filled three black bags. If you can carry it in with you, you can carry it out. When out on the moors you should only leave footprints and take away memories.

How about the bins in hotels the ones in the bathroom are so small as to be useless and the ones in the bedroom struggle to take more than a plastic bottle.
If you take off the sheets and bedding and fold them up it's an indication you have messed up the linen or the bedding.
Yeah, hotel bins are crap. A few reasons why.
- It is easier for cleaners if larger things like bottles are left on the table or whatever, particularly if being recycled.
- Small bin liners are cheaper. It all adds up when they are changed every day.
- Smaller bins might encourage guests to create less waste.

I do the same thing and always bring a bag with me fishing for the trash that I pick up.

Me too. And I always help old ladies acr

I'd like to know what your judgemental staff would have to say about that though!;)

because the bins are in the concourse, so from my seat at the back of the North Stand it would be a fair trip down to put something in the bin.
Surely you pass more than one bin on your way out? I collect everything up and take it with me. Make sure my boys see what I'm doing. (Apologies if this is a whoosh moment from me)

Let's all for a moment imagine how much nicer the world would be if there was no litter, no dog muck, no fly tipping.
Small things can make a difference.

Boro Community Champions meet to litter pick every Sunday at 10am for an hour - at the end of the session we pause for a chat, a warm drink, a biscuit and share whatever home made cakes might have been donated. Litter pickers and bags are provided. It is an all age show with lots of families pitching in.
There are litter picking groups all over Teesside and all over the country.
You might see Boro Champions Red bags dotted around awaiting collection, as many in the group go out on their own between Sundays.
Go to Community Champions Middlesbrough on facebook.
