There are reports that Villa have rejected West Ham’s approach for Duran unless or until they sign Rogers. So Emery evidently sees them as interchangeable. Duran has yet to start a League game for Villa this season and although he has made fourteen substitute appearances they only total 174 minutes in total. Is this the future that Rogers sees for himself as part of his development as opposed to regular first team football with us?

might he be included in a deal for Rogers?

If it wasn't for injuries, he'd probably be on the bench for us too!
 
I imagine in his head is that he's heading home (He's from Halesowen), he's going to a huge PL side and he'll get a pay rise and chance to play in Europe. No brainer for him, or anyone really we all want to push ourselves and compete at the highest level of our field/job don't we? I also imagine he has confidence in himself and thinks he can get his head down and force his way into the side. I doubt he's thinking "I hope i can sign for Villa and sit on the bench and play the last 8 mins of every game!" - He'll be backing himself to get into the side and stay there.

I'm guessing the add ons wouldn't be included.. we value Rogers at £15m so it could be a straight swap.. or Rogers plus a fee from us to make up a potential difference.

A loan to sweeten the deal?

I get the feeling that a few deals might be dependant on the result against Chelsea.. totally bonkers but.. maybe

I doubt Duran will be coming to boro mind.. sounds like he's causing bother at Villa and he was linked with a move to AC MIlan

Duran not happy playing bit part at Villa , and is wanted by WHU and Chelsea so won’t be coming to Boro . Rogers will replace him for less money helping Villa with FFP .
 
Duran is a 9 , and offers nothing else .
Straight swap , id snap their hand off

Obviously won't happen like

( Nothing to do with Rogers value / potential ) .. but we've Azaz , crooks , Mcgree, even greenwood who could do the 10 .
We've a one legged 9 ( Coburn) a no legged 9 ( lath ) and kids ....
We're desperate for a 9 , three bids is a bit desperate for our 10 ish Rogers

It's all work out able.,,... Apart from Jhon Duran taking 20k a week instead. 😂😂

Quite apart from Duran likely not to want to drop down a division its also fanciful that we could afford his no doubt much higher wages than Rogers.

On £30,000 a week at Villa according to capology and out of contract in the summer. Might well be interested but I don’t think we should be.
 
I mean as far as a player moving to Villa and a player moving away from Villa... it seems like we have a better chance of having one in the team than the other.
