Aren’t clubs all play things for the chairmen? I’m pretty sure they don’t do it for the love of the people. Gibsons no different.

I don't know if they are mutually exclusive. I think he probably loved the adulation he received in the 90s and beyond. 2016 probably gave him a reminder of how it can still be sometimes.

I reckon he'd sell the club tomorrow if he could, without leaving it in financial peril or leaving himself too out of pocket. He surely hasn't enjoyed the last 15 years anymore than any of us have.

"Wonder" is a word meaning "curiousity" - speculating - dreaming - dont know.
Carrick has shown "little sign" of doing what?
"Pizz poor recruitment" [subjective opinion] What else would you do differently?
"We should be better than we are." Why?
For your benefit, it was Sir Alex Ferguson that was consulted before Michael Carrick`s appointment.
"Its somebody else`s job" [?] "...to ensure we have a coaching team..." [Who?]
Does Steve Gibson have any say in this process of appointments?
Was it "Somebody else"?

Ref Boro defending last night - the SW goal was another soft one for me - all the defenders stood back and left the SW player free. The SW player crossing the ball could only cross it to one player, no Boro defender picked this up quickly enough.
